Electrical Shock Hazard !!

Guitar amplifiers are capable of very HIGH VOLTAGES! Extreme caution should be used when servicing or operating near the components of any electrical device.

Seek a qualified technician if you are unsure of any procedure you may attempt.

Tube amplifiers commonly operate at lethal voltages exceeding 400 volts !!

All parts of a guitar amplifier circuit are capable of holding an electrical charge for long periods of time even after being unplugged for extended periods. Proper discharge of all stored electricity is required before servicing of any component within an amplifier or electrical device.

Never perform maintenance on an electrical device unless:

  1. You are qualified to do so
  2. The device is un-plugged
  3. The device has been properly discharged
